JD Edwards Organizational Process Changes
A temporary assignment to fill in during the vacation of their regular project manager. Of key importance was to move these projects forward with the sign-off of documentation and buy-in of project members. These two milestones were achieved.
Re-scoping of an in-flight project to automate the calculations required to process payroll for flight cabin crew employees.
In-flight project to create an interface to produce flight tickets for corporate charter flights.
Scheduling and Timekeeping
Implementation of Kronos Advanced Scheduling software including all interfaces to their UltiPro HRIS. Upgrade to Kronos Workforce Manager to version 8. Migration to a Cloud environment. Worked with Northlands to plan their internal implementation of employee self-service, mobile communication, and SMS test messaging.
Human Resources Information System Implementation
Enterprise-wide HRIS implementation including core HR, payroll, benefits, performance management, recruitment, interfaces with four independent systems, all business process change standardization and change management. This project was implemented on time and under budget and was the recipient of the PMI-NAC Information Technology Project of the Year award.

Project Management for the HR Professional
Developed and continue to deliver a course for the Toronto HRPA for HR professionals who are or will be project managers and specialists who support multiple projects. This has now been expanded to include the Thunder Bay chapter and the Ottawa chapter.
Produce a weekly podcast that focuses on technical articles featured on TechGenix.com based out of the UK. This role has been expanded to include interviewing of Microsoft MVP’s and technical professionals.
Human Capital Management Vendor Selection and Negotiation/Business Process Improvement
Documented existing business processes and worked with senior executive to determine how to better align business processes with the strategic business plan. Assessed vendor capabilities and worked to achieve a vendor short-list. Resulted in the signing of a vendor contract with Ultimate Software and business approval to proceed.

Human Resources Information System Vendor Selection and Negotiation/Hockey Payroll Implementation
Developed and gained approval of a business case to support the implementation of a human resources information system. Documented all existing business processes. Worked with the organization to implement necessary business process changes. Assisted with vendor selection and contract negotiation. Resulted in the signing of a vendor contract with Ultimate Software. Acted as the Project Manager for the implementation of NHL, AHL and ECHL hockey payroll.
Kronos Timekeeper and Advanced Scheduler Business Case
Developed and gained approval of a business case to support the implementation of a new instance of Timekeeper and a new installation of Advanced Scheduler.
Implementation of iCIMS Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to streamline manual administrative processes and eliminate duplication of efforts by recruiters and HR. Phase I included the implementation of iCIMS and social media integration. Phase II included a data interface to SAP.
Fatigue Risk Management System
Development of a corporate work-related fatigue risk management policy and the corresponding alignment and development of a fatigue risk management plan (FRMP) for each department. Oversaw development of corporate work-related fatigue risk management processes and responsibilities, identified and engaged impacted departments to develop a fatigue risk management plan specific to their needs, developed reference toolkits and training plans as well as fatigue training for all employees.
Guests with Medical Needs
Definition of corporate processes related to carrying guests with medical needs. Developed and documented corporate standards. Defined processes related to identifying and accommodating guest medical needs. Implemented a third-party service with expertise to assess guests’ fitness to fly, medical device requirements and other medical needs.
AQD 7.4 Upgrade 2012/08-2013/08
Upgrade of the corporate aviation quality database which manages safety and operational incident and hazard reports and plans, and safety management system audits. Documented AS-IS and TO-BE processes and required functionality. Oversaw testing. Engaged and managed vendor relationship and negotiations related to failed functionality testing and user acceptance testing, documented lessons learned.
RFP and Vendor Selection
Selection of a content management solution to manage Transport Canada regulated operational and technical manuals. Gathered and documented requirements from 14 departments, researched potential vendors, developed an RFP, assessed and selected a preferred vendor. Defined scope of implementation effort required and a process for the normalization of related business processes.
IATA Operational Safety Audit
Demonstration of operational management and airline control systems compliance to meet IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) standards. Coordinated all corporate IOSA-related documentation, records and resources. Participated in internal health checks and an internal pre-audit including audit report and corrective action plan. Participated in onsite IOSA audit, managed all corrective action plans. The result was 100% compliance and one of the most successful audits completed by the auditing organization.

Human Resources Strategic Planning
Development of strategic planning recommendations to achieve the objectives of the corporate five-year plan following the change from an investment holding company to an operating company. Reviewed the corporate five-year plan, conducted best practices research, developed and recommended a strategic plan, identified and prioritized projects, created project charters and business cases, established relationships with vendors and key stakeholders, analyzed stakeholders and change impact to business areas.
Discovery phase of a web-based workforce management tool. Developed project plan, scope, schedule, and risk management strategy. Gathered requirements, documented business rules, identified gaps, engaged vendors, evaluated and selected tool, developed change strategy.
Integration of eight disparate payroll systems into a single corporate solution. Researched best practices, engaged stakeholders, gathered business requirements, documented AS-IS and TO-BE processes, conducted gap analysis, selected and facilitated vendor demos, negotiated vendor contract, oversaw full-life-cycle development, testing and implementation, facilitated lessons learned workshops.
Integration of employees from an acquired entity into the corporate payroll system. Project plan and scope. Reviewed contractual documents, engaged employees and previous employer to understand benefits, analyzed benefits calculations, defined business rules, analyzed stakeholders and change impact to business units, presented job offers. Negotiated Variance Report for overtime with BC government. The business requirement was 100% employee retention. This requirement was met.
Development of a roadmap to integrate payroll systems from three geographically-dispersed power plants and a U.S.-based power plant into the corporate payroll system. Developed an integration roadmap including business case, budget and schedule. Analyzed the disparate systems to confirm integration was possible, researched industry best practices, union rules, and U.S. payroll rules, engaged U.S.-based vendor, analyzed stakeholders for change readiness and change impact.
